close x icon Michelle Hixon Director, Administrative Services and Communications Ms. Hixon serves as Director, Administrative Services and Communications of KYMEA. Ms. Hixon is responsible for overseeing the organization’s administrative operations and ensuring excellence across all support functions. This role collaborates with senior leadership to develop and implement strategies that enhance performance, drive efficiency, and support long-term success. It includes direct oversight of Human Resources functions, project management, and board-related activities, as well as the planning and execution of marketing, communications, and governmental affairs initiatives. Ms. Hixon has over a decade of office management experience with a background in healthcare administration and brings a wide variety of skills and expertise to KYMEA. She is an SHRM-certified Human Resource professional with experience in leading and implementing projects that support an organization’s strategic goals. Ms. Hixon joined KYMEA in March 2018. She is a graduate with honors from Keiser University in Daytona Beach, Florida, with a degree in Radiologic Technology. mhixon@kymea.org close x icon Doug Buresh President and CEO Doug Buresh headshot Since January 2018, Mr. Buresh has served as KYMEA’s President & CEO. Prior to joining KYMEA, Mr. Buresh worked in the power industry for approximately two decades concentrating in the areas of integrated resource planning, strategic planning, market price forecasting, fuel procurement, risk assessment and public policy. As President & CEO, he is responsible for creating, communicating and implementing the KYMEA’s vision, mission and overall direction on behalf of its municipal electric utility members. Mr. Buresh holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Nebraska, a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Kansas State University, and a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University. He is a licensed professional engineer in the states of Missouri and Indiana. dburesh@kymea.org close x icon Rob Leesman VP of Market Analytics Rob Leesman headshot In June 2018 Mr. Leesman was hired as KYMEA’s Vice President of Market Analytics. Mr. Leesman is responsible for front office, planning, and ratemaking activities of the Agency. Mr. Leesman has 27 years of experience in wholesale marketing and trading. Before joining KYMEA, Mr. Leesman served as the Director of Power Marketing for Owensboro Municipal Utilities (OMU), where he oversaw the selling and risk mitigation of excess generation from the Elmer Smith Generating Station into the wholesale power market, established agreements with counterparties and aligned OMU’s interests with other Kentucky municipal utilities. Mr. Leesman graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. rleesman@kymea.org close x icon Heather Overby VP of Finance & Accounting / CFO In June 2018 Ms. Overby joined the Agency full time as Vice President of Finance & Accounting /Chief Financial Officer. During its formation, Ms. Overby handled the financial affairs of KYMEA on a contractual basis. Ms. Overby began her career with Deloitte & Touche, LLP, and has worked for over 27 years in the municipal public power industry. She has served as Chairman of the Prairie State Energy Campus Finance Committee, Chairman of the American Public Power Association Business and Finance Conference Planning Committee, and Chairman of the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association Finance Committee. She currently serves as Chairman of the Kentucky School Facilities Construction Commission, an appointment made by Kentucky’s Governor. Ms. Overby holds a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Accounting from Regis University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Transylvania University. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Kentucky and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Kentucky Society of CPAs. hoverby@kymea.org Heather Headshot close x icon Molly Roesler Controller Ms. Roesler joined KYMEA in September 2020 and serves as its Controller. Ms. Roesler Directs and manages the Agency’s treasury, cash management, banking, investments, and debt financing functions and oversees accounting activities. Directs and manages short-term and long-term financial modeling functions of the Agency in coordination with the Planning and Rates department. Molly oversees the development of the Agency’s annual operating and capital budgets. She assists the President & CEO in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and programs to ensure protection of the assets of the Agency and to fulfill the Agency’s goals and objectives. Before joining KYMEA, Ms. Roesler held positions in both the healthcare and manufacturing industries, which has allowed her the opportunity to develop a multitude of skills and expertise to bring to KYMEA. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Spalding University. In addition, she also holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Belmont University and a Master of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Louisville. mroesler@kymea.org
